Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 25th, 2026

Chatterloom LLC (“Chatterloom,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through chatterloom.com (the “Site”) and the Chatterloom app (the “App”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you sign up for updates, we collect your email address. When you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include in your message.

Information you enter in the app. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password, which we store only in scrambled form. When you add your child, you can enter their first name, and if you like, their date of birth and pronouns. As you use the program, you may add notes, journal entries, and milestones about your child. We store all of this so the app can show it back to you and so you can export your report. We don’t sell it or use it for advertising.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites and apps, our hosting provider’s servers automatically record basic technical information when you visit the Site or use the App, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. We use this only to operate and secure Chatterloom. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.

Accessibility preferences. The Site includes an accessibility toolbar. If you change settings such as text size or contrast, those preferences are stored in your own browser so they persist between visits. They are not sent to us.

How we use your information

  • To run your account and show your family’s information back to you in the App.
  • To send you news about Chatterloom that you asked to receive.
  • To reply to your questions and messages.
  • To operate, maintain, and protect the Site and the App.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

How we share information

We share information only with service providers that help us run Chatterloom, such as our website host and our email provider, and only as needed for them to provide those services.

When you buy a Chatterloom plan, your purchase is sold by Sold through Link, LLC (“Link”), a Stripe company that acts as the merchant of record. Link receives your payment details and contact information to take your payment, send your receipt, and handle sales tax. We never see or store your full card number. Link’s use of your information is governed by its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

Children’s privacy

Chatterloom is for parents and caregivers. Children don’t have accounts and don’t sign in. The App does store information you choose to enter about your own child, such as their first name, journal notes, and milestones. That information belongs to you, and you can delete it at any time, as described below. We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

How long we keep information

We keep your email address for as long as you remain on our update list. If you ask to be removed, we will delete it, except where we need to keep a record to honor your request or meet a legal obligation.

We keep your App account and what you’ve written in it until you delete it, including after your plan ends. If you cancel, you can still sign in, read what you’ve written, and export your report. If your plan is refunded, you can still sign in to delete your account, or buy a plan again to restore access.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to remove you from our update list, or to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, by emailing contact@chatterloom.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor requests as required.

Deleting your information. Your information is held in two places, and each is deleted separately:

  • Your payment records are held by Link, which sold you your plan. To see or delete them, follow the steps in Link’s privacy policy at link.com/privacy. Deleting through Link ends your Chatterloom plan straight away, but your Chatterloom account and everything in it stay until you delete them.
  • Your Chatterloom account, including your child’s details, journal, and milestones, can be deleted in the App under Settings once your plan has ended. Deleting removes it for everyone on the account, including any other caregivers you’ve shared it with. We’ll remove it within 30 days.

To remove everything, delete both.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
